§ 10-20. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Abandoned motor vehicle is as defined in V.T.C.A., Transportation Code § 683.002.

    Affirmative defense has the meaning ascribed to it in V.T.C.A., Penal Code § 2.04.

    Antique auto means a passenger car or truck that was manufactured in 1925 or before, or a passenger car or truck that is at least 35 years old.

    Bushes and trees mean any vegetation of any type of a height in excess of one foot.

    Collector means the owner of one or more antique or special interest vehicles who collects, purchases, acquires, trades, or disposes of special interest or antique vehicles or parts of them for personal use in order to restore, preserve, and maintain an antique or special interest vehicle for historic interest.

    Junked vehicle means a motor vehicle as defined in V.T.C.A., Transportation Code § 683.071.

    Other objectionable, unsightly or unsanitary matter of whatever nature includes, but is not limited to, weeds and grass, or either of them, over 12 inches in height, as well as accumulations of lawn clippings, dead leaves, cut trees or tree limbs and other debris, garbage, or trash of whatever nature.

    Owner means any person holding legal or equitable title to any real property within the corporate limits of the town as reflected on the current tax roll of the town.

    Special interest vehicle means a motor vehicle of any age that has not been altered or modified from original manufacturer's specifications and, because of its historic interest, is being preserved by hobbyists.
